How to reach Khagrachari

  • Dhaka to Khagrachari by night coach takes roughly 8–9 hours.
  • Khagrachari town to Sajek is about 2.5 hours by chander gari, running in escorted convoys at fixed morning and afternoon times.
  • Chattogram to Khagrachari is about 4 hours by road.
  • Convoy timings decide your day — miss the morning departure and you wait for the next one, so book cottages and transport together.
  • Water is scarce and expensive in Sajek during the dry season; carry what you need and use it sparingly.
  • Weekends and holidays sell out early. Reserve a Sajek cottage well ahead for a cloud-season weekend.

When can I see the sea of clouds in Sajek?

Most reliably from late monsoon through winter — roughly August to February — at sunrise from Konglak or your cottage balcony.

How many days for Sajek?

Two nights is ideal: arrive by afternoon convoy, catch sunset and sunrise, then return with a Khagrachari stop for Alutila or Richang.

Is Sajek in Rangamati or Khagrachari?

Sajek is administratively in Rangamati district, but road access is from Khagrachari, so trips are planned from there.
