How to reach Sylhet
- Dhaka to Sylhet by air is about 45 minutes; trains take 6–7 hours and buses 6–8 hours.
- All day trips (Jaflong, Ratargul, Bichanakandi, Shada Pathor) are done by reserved car or CNG from the city.
- Boats at Hadarpar, Volaganj and Ratargul are hired at the ghat — pair them with your car for the day.
- Ratargul is only fully flooded in the monsoon; in the dry season you walk rather than paddle.
- Two destinations per day is realistic — Jaflong with Lalakhal, or Bichanakandi with Shada Pathor.
- Stone quarry areas can be restricted; follow local instructions and keep away from working sites.
